5 Year-Old Shots 2 Year-Old With Gun

Last week in southern Kentucky a 5 year-old boy shot and killed his 2 year-old sister with a .22-caliber rifle he’d been given last year for his birthday. It was an accident. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory: “It’s just one of those nightmares, a quick thing that happens when you turn your back. In this part of the country, it’s not uncommon for a 5-year-old to have a gun…”

The gun used is marketed by Crickett and is designed specifically for children.

Boston’s Dark-Skinned Male

Two days after the Boston Bombing CNN’s Chief National Correspondent, John King, revealed information that he claimed had been obtained from law enforcement sources:

I want to be very careful about this because people get very sensitive when you say these things. I was told by one of these sources, who is a law enforcement official, that this was a dark-skinned male. The official used some other words, I’m not going to repeat them until we get more information because of the sensitivities. There are some people that will take offense even at saying that.

This information immediately set off a series of responses and reactions, most of which called into question the reason why, even if the information were true, the 24-hour news cycle reporter would choose “dark-skinned male” to describe the suspect.

Boston Boming

On April 15th — Tax Day in most of the United States and Patriot Day in Massachusetts — the historic city of Boston hosted the world with its internationally renouned marathon. Dozens of thousands of people attended this year, just like every year, most to cheer racers on. The 2013 Boston Marathon however saw the event and the day scared by twin bomb blasts that rocked the corner of Exeter and Newbury Streets, a few yards away from the finish line.

Twenty-four hours later three people had died, while more than 100 were mainmed and injured. It was the worst bombing on U.S. soil since security was tightened after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and President Barack Obama promised to bring to justice whoever was responsible for the attack.
